When I present like I like to bring my own AV equipment to give me as much control as possible over technical aspects of the presentation and to alleviate a burden from the event organizers.

Everything is contained in an InFocus Projector Case which provides a bit of padding, but is not too bulky and makes it easy to carry it all.

Here’s the contents of my kit:

InFocus LP 70+ with M1 to HDMI Adapter Attached
HDMI Cable
Keyspan Presentation Remote
Powered Speakers
Three Plug 10′ Extension Cord
Extra AAA Batteries for Remote

When researching projectors it is easy to get lost down the rabbit hole and be overwhelmed by the options. Price is one of the most obvious things about any projector. Some of the factors that influence price the most are the brightness of the projector and the size. Generally speaking the brighter the projector the more conditions you can use it in and the further away it can project. I wanted something that could work in most conditions but was also a good size to be traveling with. The model I selected ran me less than $200 and performs quite well for its size. I’ve had it for about two years now and have periodically looked to see if there was something better out there which was still affordable and have yet to find a better alternative.

The speakers I use aren’t anything fancy but they are loud enough for quiet classrooms with less than 40 people and there for serve me well. I’ve been hesitant to invest in a bluetooth speaker because I’m not sure how they compare in terms of volume to my current ones and I really like having a cable plugged directly in to my laptop. One less thing to mess around with when setting up or to have go wrong while presenting. A rechargeable speaker with a wired connection to my computer that was equal in volume or louder to my current setup would be a great replacement.
